2010 in review

January 3, 2011

Automated review from WordPress. As feared, it looks like I have a tough challenge to beat the popularity of the @mcboof job speculation poll – which somewhat begs the question… “why do I bother?”

The stats helper monkeys at WordPress.com mulled over how this blog did in 2010, and here’s a high level summary of its overall blog health:

Healthy blog!

The Blog-Health-o-Meter™ reads Wow.

Crunchy numbers

A Boeing 747-400 passenger jet can hold 416 passengers. This blog was viewed about 6,300 times in 2010. That’s about 15 full 747s.

In 2010, there were 27 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 85 posts.

The busiest day of the year was February 15th with 194 views. The most popular post that day was #mcboofsnewjob – some idle Friday afternoon speculation….

    Thanks John

I’ve concluded that your recent word of the day ‘tautology’ is a superb description of the state of ‘social media’ today. Combine this with Ian T’s very apt description of the environment as a ‘hamster wheel’ and I’m left with the view that it is all a pretty ‘pointless’ activity.

I’m going to continue using this blog to note thoughts from time to time as I think it will be a useful exercise to look back in 10 years and remind myself how utterly wrong I was about everything :)
