#mcboofsnewjob – some idle Friday afternoon speculation…

February 12, 2010

I haven’t run a poll in this blog so far, so I’ve taken the opportunity to use one to get some speculation going on the #mcboofsnewjob #buzz that’s currently travelling the CMS Twitter community. Here’s a few ideas I could conjure up – feel free to add more in the comments :)

You left out Full Time Professional Chess Player.

I’ve added it – presumably that’s the one you’re going to click on ;)

    You missed:
    * CTO at FatWire (vacancy)
    * CTO at Sun (haiku-based vacancy)
    * Getting a haircut (which gets my vote).

Thanks Philippe – although ‘as the man in the know’ I guess you’re trying to throw us off the scent :)

Also just thought of Chief Technical Architect – Alterian CM7 project – now there’s a good challenge ;)

What about being a stay at home dad to look after the kids.
And noooo there will be no cutting of any hair.

Analyst at CMS Watch? Is “The Real Story” a Dylan song then?

How about pulling in some of the suggestions from twitter?

  8. February 12, 2010 5:38 pm

Good idea – they seem to be mostly summarised on http://twitter.com/pmonks – I particularly liked ‘acquired a pub in the English countryside’ and ‘ a full reimplementation of playboy.co.uk’ :)

Thanks for suggesting J. Boye South Africa. Should be fun.

I’m wondering why the speculation is focused mostly on vendor jobs. As if somebody like McBoof could not cross over to the dark side

hmmm – depends on your definition of the ‘dark side’ I guess Janus. Are you thinking, god forbid, something in ‘marketing’? Or maybe even ‘Social Media’? Is ‘Open Source’ the dark side you’re thinking of. Perhaps we can combine those into ‘marketing open source social media’ ?

According to LinkedIn, LBi employees most typically leave for BBC. See http://www.linkedin.com/companies/lbi

Perhaps McBoof have found a buy-side organisation which shares LBi’s view on productivity and tweeting.

Ah – the Beeb has been hunting for Social Media Gurus recently – could be that then…

I can’t see the real one there?

Just in case things get out of hand. I’m none of the above and will tell you more when I can. Enough already :-)

You know what this stuff’s like though Jon – Draw attention to it and there’s another 10 votes logged ;)

Tell you what – I’ll make one last speculation…

    CTO MiiKii Group ?

    Any closer?

Oh well – I’m clearly not cut out for ‘investigative blogging’

Back to the day job :( #fail

I managed to persuade him to join me twice – he’s hardly going to let me get away with it a third time is he?
